La Sapinière School (Les Mésanges) – Complete energy renovation

La Sapinière School is an educational facility located in the municipality of Watermael-Boitsfort, in the Brussels-Capital Region. As part of an ambitious energy renovation program led by the municipality, this public building was selected for a comprehensive upgrade of its technical installations to improve both its energy performance and occupant comfort.

The Municipality of Watermael-Boitsfort entrusted CTSM with the renovation of the boiler plant and electrical switchboard, the installation of a heat pump, the complete replacement of the distribution piping network, the installation of radiant heating and cooling ceilings, and the integration of rooftop photovoltaic solar panels. The objective was to provide comfortable indoor temperatures throughout the year while generating part of the building’s energy on-site, creating a more autonomous, sustainable, and energy-efficient school.

Carrying out the works in an operational school required careful planning, with major interventions scheduled during school holiday periods to minimize disruption. The project’s multidisciplinary scope—including HVAC systems, electrical works, and photovoltaic installations—also required close coordination among all contractors and technical teams.
