La Ferme de Martinrou – Theatre HVAC Renovation
The project in pictures
La Ferme de Martinrou is an iconic cultural venue in the city of Fleurus, hosting performances, concerts, and artistic events. The building, dedicated to theatrical and event activities, includes a main performance hall as well as reception areas, requiring very high standards of acoustic and thermal comfort.
The client required a complete renovation of the theatre’s heating and ventilation systems, with the aim of significantly improving comfort for spectators, performers, and technical staff while reducing the site’s energy footprint.
The objective was twofold: to ensure flawless acoustic performance on stage and provide optimal thermal comfort throughout the entire facility.
The main challenge was the installation of an ultra-quiet ventilation unit to preserve the acoustic quality of performances and avoid any disruption during events.
The integration of a heat pump system for heating and cooling the performance hall and reception areas also required careful design to reduce the theatre’s energy consumption while maintaining optimal comfort levels.
Additional works included the construction of acoustic partitions and floors, the installation of solar panels, as well as the implementation of distribution networks and fan coil units. All interventions were carried out within an active and constrained construction environment, with the building remaining operational throughout the works.
